Honest UX Talks is a podcast series hosted by Anfisa Bogomolova and Ioana Teleanu; they are both UX designers who talk about the ins and outs of the UX community. Topics discussed in the show include, but are not limited to: mentorship, design constraints, mental health, education, portfolios, imposter syndrome, tools, team dynamics, interviews, feedback & critique, and building empathy.
In 2021, I started following a few UX pages on other social platforms to hear/learn more about other people’s experiences and transitions into UX. Many of the pages transitioned into clickbait-style ‘UI tips’ and stopped talking about the nuance of UX research and design.
I decided to look elsewhere for stories, inspiration and motivation (in an entirely different medium) and found the Honest UX Talks podcast!
We can all get stuck in our work sometimes so I often listen to an episode of this podcast to realign myself and get out of my own bubble. Anfisa and Ioana talk about all things UX and there’s plenty of episodes to keep you busy!
I listen and take notes on every episode of the podcast - for enjoyment and also to document that I have done so. Check out my notes here!
I love this podcast - it truly helps me realign when I’m hyper focusing on a specific part of the design process. One thing in particular that I really love about it is the name: it truly is honest. A lot of content posted on social media (Twitter, Instagram, etc.) can leave out key details of UX but this podcast doesn’t - it keeps things honest and in perspective.
10/10.
